Esther also provides specialist tuition for pupils with dyslexia, using structured, multisensory teaching tailored to individual needs.

I teach piano to pupils of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to advanced players, and am able to teach up to ARSM level. Lessons are tailored to each pupil's goals, whether that's playing for pleasure, working towards grades, or building strong technical foundations. I aim to make every lesson enjoyable, encouraging, and structured around steady, visible progress.
I am a Kodály practitioner in-training, using this internationally recognised method to build strong musicianship through singing, folk song, and aural development. The Kodály approach develops inner hearing, pitch, and rhythm from the ground up, giving pupils a deep, intuitive understanding of music and building genuine confidence in their own musicianship. I offer both 1:1 lessons and workshops for those wishing to develop their musicianship through this method

As an ABRSM examiner, I've been through a thorough and demanding selection process to earn this role. Examining means I regularly hear performances across every standard, which gives me a real understanding of what examiners are listening for — insight I bring directly back into how I prepare my own students, both technically and in building confidence for the exam itself. I examine across the full range, from the Preparatory Test and Initial Grade through to Grade 8 and ARSM.
Performer and accompanist
Esther studied piano at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire under Gordon Fergus-Thompson, and previously with Marie-Therese Alston, a student of Vlado Perlemuter. She has a wide solo repertoire and can perform a variety of genres and styles, alongside extensive experience as an accompanist, working with singers and instrumentalists across a wide range of settings.
Esther regularly accompanies candidates for ABRSM exams, up to and including ARSM. She is the piano accompanist for the Courage Choir, conducted by Fliss Courage, performing at venues nationally including Bath Komedia, Holy Trinity Bradford on Avon, Moulton House, and Wiltshire Music Centre. She is also accompanist to the soprano, Georgia Coggan.
Esther performs on the piano at wedding venues across the South West and in London, playing for ceremonies and the signing of the register. She is also available to play at funerals, and is sensitive to providing the right music for such an important occasion.
